Description:
Indigenous in Hawaii, but pantropical. Extremely polymorphic species. This photo was taken at around 6800 ft/2073 m, ENE aspect on the NE portion of Mauna Loa. Habitat at this elevation is subalpine shrubland with a few small Ohia (Metrosideros polymorpha) and occasional Mamane (Sophora chrysophylla) trees.
