Description:
Multinucleate marine amoeba. This phase image shows the reticulate amoeba and cycts. This species is much smaller than the type species L. batrachospermi. Recent analyses place this taxon as sister to the photosynthetic stramenopiles Synchroma and Chlamydomyxa. ATCC PRA-24.
