Leaves stalk - used to make blowpipe darts. Edible pollen - eaten as a condiment for rice or sago dishes. Fruits eaten to relieve kidney ailments. Common in lowland forest. Big clump, short stem, thorny. Pinnate leaf ca 6-7 m length, dropping at distal end. Leaflets lanceolate, ca 1m length, 2-2.5 cm width, neatky arranged along rachis. Rachis spiny; spadix terminal.
