Southern Copperhead (Agkistrodon contortrix) - environmental camouflage

Description:
One of the most thrilling and interesting aspects of my visit to South Carolina were my 5 encounters with copperheads. As long as I wasn't bumbling around without looking where I was going, we got along quite well and I grew very affectionate toward these peaceable (though not to be messed with) venemous snakes.
