The smooth bark of this tree gives it names such as Indio Desnudo (naken indian) and Palo Mulato. It maintains this exterior by allowing the outer surface to continuously peel off. The range is Florida to Venezuela and this photo is from the Darien of Panama. Burseraceae Family.
