Kauai 'Elepaio (Chasiempis sclateri)

Description:
The Kauia Elepaio, Chasiempis sclateri, is unique to the Hawaiian Island of Kauai where it is mostly found in upland native forests. It is closely related to Elepaios on the other Hawaiian Islands and until recently was considered a subspecies of Chasiempis sandwichensis. It is seen here on an old Cibotium fern frond in mesic-to-wet forest near the Kilohana Lookout in the Alakai region of Kauai. Image I12-0697, August 9th 2012, Canon D5 Mk II, 100 mm IS Macro lens.
