Description:
This is a Macaranga tanarius, a beautiful and very common tree in Hong Kong. Macaranga tanarius can stande up to strong winds and it is tolerant to droughts and saltiness. It is an ideal shade tree to be grown on the beaches as it can grow in pure sand. It is a typical low attitude plant that is rarely found at an altitude of 1000 meters above see level.
