Ichneumon Wasp female (Apechthis compunctor)

Description:
23rd August 2023. Lower Load, Tewkesbury, Glos.My attention was caught by a violently shaking nettle although it was not windy. This wasp was furiously agitating the nettle with it's abdomen tip buried in a leaf. This Ichneumon Wasp female (Apechthis compunctor) was probably laying into prey inside the nettle leaf.
