J20160823-0021Vitis californica x vinifera 'Rogers Red'1354 Lincoln

Description:
Vitis californica x viniferea 'Roger's Red'. A natural cross between the California wild grape and the cultivated wine grape first collected by Roger Raiche. The leaves turn a vibrant red in the fall. Three years ago I was thrilled when I found just a few bunches of grapes. This year, I have enough to make wine if I so desired. The grapes are tasty but come with a large pit. Photographed in a private garden in Berkeley, CA
