Desmidium grevillei Filamentous colony of Desmidium grevillii with its mucilaginous sheath. One cell was separated from the filament and is shown in optical cross section. Scale bar indicates 50 µm. Sample from a small wetland near Schladming (northern alpine region of Austria near Salzburg).
