Thorn Treehopper - Umbonia crassicornis, Everglades National Park, Homestead, Florida

Description:
Description: English: Thorn Treehopper - Umbonia crassicornis, Everglades National Park, Homestead, Florida. These are colloquially known as Thornbugs. They are small, and despite their magnificent coloration, I almost missed seeing them as they do look like thorns. The only thing that gave them away was the unusual distribution. I'm glad I took a closer look!. Date: 8 December 2013, 15:10:31. Source: https://www.flickr.com/photos/52450054@N04/11825808924/. Author: Judy Gallagher.
