Description:

Description: desert snowberry, Symphoricarpos longiflorus, Nevada, White Mountains, Sugarloaf, Sugarloaf Canyon, Pinchot Creek - Columbus Salt Marsh watershed, elevation 2646 m (8680 ft). This is a common and widespread shrub of rocky places in the deserts and lower mountains of southwestern North America, and sometimes ascends to the lower edge of the subalpine zone. The flowers here seem a little shorter than average for the species, maybe because of the higher elevation or the poor volcanic soils. Date: 16 June 2017, 10:31.
