Tamarack (9348957338)
Description:
Description: Larix laricina at the headwaters of Doe Run, a mountain stream in Loyalsock State Forest, Lycoming County. In Pennsylvania, tamaracks are found primarily in the glaciated, high-elevation plateau regions of the state’s northeast and northwest counties—often in boreal conifer bogs, where they accompany spruces, hemlocks, and balsam fir. The trees are deciduous conifers; they bear cones but also shed their needles in late autumn. The needles turn bright gold before they're shed. Date: 21 July 2013, 16:37. Source: Tamarack.
