Rhipidura leucophrys 1

Image of Willie Wagtail

Description:

Description: The Willie Wagtail - Rhipidura leucophrys - can be distinguished from other similar-sized black and white birds by its black throat and white eyebrows and whisker marks. Although it is active in defending its territory, the Willie Wagtail is very tolerant and tame around humans, often feeding and nesting in close proximity of houses and human activity. There is a nest in next door's barbecue area, and we often see these cheeky little birds chasing away the local crows, about 10 times their size. Date: 20 June 2009, 11:33.
