Description: Chorizanthe orcuttiana — San Diego spineflower. A small (1-15 cm) annual plant species endemic to (only found in) San Diego County, California. It's clustered flowers are small and each produces a single seed. Listed as federally endangered, this plant prefers habitat within southern maritime chaparral or associated coastal sage scrub, of the California coastal sage and chaparral sub-ecoregion.
