Description: Calamagrostis nutkaensis—Pacific reedgrass. Named for Nootka Sound, the place responsible for all of Jack Aubrey's glory and, ultimately, blue at the mizzen. Ranges north from the Central Coast of California, never far from the sea, to Alaska. The plant is a desirable accent plant for gardens in coastal California.
