FreshwaterSpongillidae

Description:
Description: English: Freshwater sponges (Spongillidae; genus Spongilla?, species Spongilla lacustris?) on the ground of a clear forest pond about 45 cm in depth (photographed from above of the water surface – with the help of a polarizing filter). The antler-like shape is typical for sponges in still water, the green color is caused by embedded single-celled algae. All around there is some waterweed (Elodea sp.).
