English: The photograph depicts an adult parasitic fluke Diclidophora denticulata on the gill filament of a dark-colored cod (Pollachius virens) caught in Norway. The parasite attaches to the host's gills using a posterior attachment apparatus composed of four pairs of prominent finger-like projections, which are terminated by sclerotized clamps. The colored image was captured using a scanning electron microscope SEM JEOL 6380 LV located at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. Date: 27 April 2018. Source: Own work.
