Smooth-sided Toad (Bufo guttatus) (2863772865)

Image of Rhaebo guttatus (Schneider 1799)

Description:

Description: Smooth-sided toads are bold predators. They catch prey with long, sticky tongues and swallow it alive. Some large toads eat almost anything they can fit in their mouths including mice, birds, snakes and other frogs. Most frogs have short, pointed tooth, and you’d think that these toads would too. But “true toads” have no teeth at all – which is why these toads swallow their prey whole!. Date: 22 March 2008, 08:13. Source: Smooth-sided Toad (Bufo guttatus) Uploaded by Magnus Manske.
