Die Reihen (Zeilen) A bis C sind mit Hemmstofflösungen unterschiedlicher Konzentration gefüllt, denen eine Bakteriensuspension (Escherichia coli) zugegeben wurde, Reihe D beinhaltet die Negativ- und Reihe E die Positivkontrolle (Spalten 1–3). Die Trübung der Bakteriensuspension (z. B. A5–A12) zeigt, dass die Konzentration hier zu niedrig war, da keine Hemmung erfolgt ist.
