However, it is a special bird for me because I don't recall getting any other photographs of it. It belongs to the family Viduidae, all of which are obligate brood parasites of estrildid finch species. Most indigobirds lay their eggs in the nests of a single species firefinch, with the dusky indigobird specialising on the African firefinch. Although this firefinch is quite common in this area, I have still not seen it, so it would be a lifer for me. Date: 22 January 2022, 10:12:33.
