Myriopteris cooperae - 33164412323

Image of Cooper's lipfern

Description:

Description: English: This uncommon fern is unique to California where it grows around rocks in calcareous areas in hills and mountains. It was previously in the genus Cheilanthes. It is distinctive because of its long hairs (seen here in the full size image view) and more membranous fronds than other Californian Myriopteris species. This view shows the sori in a continuous row around the edges of the pinnae lobes. It is seen here in Sequoia National Park along the Marble Falls Trail. Image imgl0291, March 29th 2017.
