Description:
Description: English: Coastal lipfern, Myriopteris intertexta, California, White Mountains, Falls Canyon, Hammil Valley - Owens Valley watershed, elevation 2024 m (6640 ft). This species is found in moist and/or sheltered rock crevices up to middle elevations in the mountains in northern California and adjacent Oregon and Nevada, with a disjunct location in Utah. It is considered to be of ancient hybrid origin between M. covillei and M. gracillima, and is distinguished from both by the combination of dark green upper leaf surfaces, and lower surfaces with narrowly lanceolate scales not completely obscuring the surface and margins.
