Description: English: Southern White Rhinoceros from South Africa (non-native), with native plants of the Sahel sub-Saharan savanna in Bandia Reserve national park, in Saly, Senegal. The native Northern White Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum cottoni), a northern subspecies is extinct in the wild and may have eight remaining worldwide — all in captivity.
