This large climber has attracted my attention because it looks like from another era, and a dinosaur should be nearby. No wonder, - it is an extant genus of family Pandanaceae - the ancient family dating from the early to mid-Cretaceous. Freycinetia scandens - Climbing Pandanus, or Broad-leaved climbing pandan. Named after Admiral Louis de Freycinet, a 19th-century French explorer. A slender vine , climbing by aerial roots. Australian native. I found it in rainforest near Eumundi, Sunshine Coast, Australia DSC01143. Date: 25 January 2016, 07:12. Source: Climbing Pandan (Freycinetia scandens) - 3 photos.
