The lower/inner anal appendages (cerci) of this male specimens are shaped like spoons, which is a distinctive attribute to the similar species Lestes sponsa. Die unteren/inneren Hinterleibsanhänge dieser beiden Männchen sind löffelartig geformt und nach innen gebogen, was ein Unterscheidungsmerkmal zur ähnlichen Gemeinen Binsenjungfer (Lestes sponsa) ist.
