Alpine sorrel, Oxyria digyna (41224180831)
Description:
Description: alpine sorrel, Oxyria digyna, California, White Mountains, McAfee Meadow, McAfee Creek, Fishlake Valley drainage, elevation 3595 m (11795 ft). One of my favorite alpine plants, and another widespread one, alpine sorrel is found around the northern hemisphere at arctic and boreal latitudes, and farther southward in the alpine zones of major mountain ranges. In the mountains it tends to prefer sheltered rocky places where snowbanks persist, or other seasonally moist sites. Date: 30 July 2016, 13:15. Source: alpine sorrel, Oxyria digyna.
