Pinworms in the Appendix (2)
Description:
Description: Pinworms in the Appendix Cross sections of these pinworms (Enterobius vermicularis) were an incidental finding in this middle-aged patient who underwent a hysterectomy and staging procedure for adenocarcinoma of the endometrium. The lateral "spines" (actually longitudinal blade-like ridges running the length of the worm) are identifying features of the pinworm. Source: https://www.flickr.com/photos/euthman/2395978147/.
