Cyrtonyx montezumae - Montezuma Quail XC505242

Description:

Description: English: This is the assembly call of a Montezuma Quail covey, as they moved downslope into a small canyon. There were several, 6-10 individuals. In this recording you can hear two individuals calling, one closer and the other responding immediately afterward. The interval of the songs is natural. The location is placed at the parking area/campground, rather than the precise location in the very general broad vicinity of Carr Peak, because this species is sometimes too enthusiastically chased by birders and also the hunting season opens soon. bird-seen:yes playback-used:no Common name: Montezuma Quail Type: call, sex uncertain Genus: Cyrtonyx Species: montezumae Location: Hereford, Cochise County, Arizona Country: United States Elevation: 2300 m.
