Large Amoeba
Description:
[taxonomy:genus=Polychaos] Protoplasmic streaming and deformation of a large amoeba. New outgrowths of cytoplasm begin as small spherical blebs that rapidly enlarge and sprout off blebs of their own. Overall the shape is straight and more or less cylindrical, save for the blebbing. Instead of forking, new branches are formed by streaming some cytoplasm back to the rear of the amoeba and blebbing a new growth outwards from there, resulting in a radial shape.
