A juvenile Cassowary in a clearing in Queensland Australia, Aug 2007This bird did not appear to be concerned at all by my presence. I positioned myself somewhat ahead of its path, and eventually it came within 3 meters of me, every once in a while lowering its head to pick at potential food on the ground.
