Miner's lettuce
Description:
Claytonia perfoliata Donn ex Willd. (syn. Montia perfoliata). There is still debate as to whether this should be included in Montia or Claytonia. I am following Arnow, FNA and Reveal in treating it as Claytonia but Welsh makes reasonable arguments to the contrary. FNA further would appear to treat this as subsp. perfoliata. May 5, 2011, Wasatch foothills, Salt Lake County, Utah, approx. 5,050 ft. elevation, in quartizite rock crevice growing with Woodsia
