Jeniang, Kedah, Malaysia.Clinacanthus nutans Lindau, Acanthaceae. CN: [Malay - Belalai gajah, Dandang gendis, Daun kalingsir, Sabah snake grass], Drooping Clinacanthus, Phaya-Yor, Snake Plant. Traditionally used for treatment of dermatologic problems and anti-snake venom among traditional healers, but recently has become a sensation as a herbal cancer treatment. Herb, tall, erect, sometimes rambling shrubs. Stem cylindric, yellow when dry, densely striate, subglabrous. Petiole 5-7 cm or more; leaf blade lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, 5-11 x 1-4 cm, papery, secondary vein 5 or 6 on each side of mid-vein and convex on both surface when dry, base oblique, margin sub-entire, apex caudate-acuminate. Inflorescence ca 1.5 cm, glandular, bracts linear ca 8mm, apex acuminate. Corolla dark red ca 4-6 cm, pubescent. Stamens and pistil glabrous.
