Mohoidae (Hawaiian Honeyeaters)Oahu, unspecified locationFormerly placed in the Meliphagidae (Honeyeaters), the newly formed Mohoidae is a bird family endemic to the Hawaiian Islands, but sadly all the members are now extinct. The late Alan C. Ziegler (1926-2003), zoologist, identified these few priceless bones for me in 1992 with his notes.
