Square-tailed Kite

Description:

While driving through Booderee National Park on my way to the old lighthouse to look for bristlebirds, I chanced upon this Square-tailed Kite. A quick (but educated) guess at exposure settings as I jumped out of the car and turned the camera on yielded a passable result.Memo to self: turn the camera on and preset appropriate exposure settings before traversing areas like Booderee where a chance encounter with a passing raptor is not uncommon.
