COMMELINACEAE - Blue Ginger (Dichorisandra thyrsiflora)
Description:
Native in Brazil, Blue Ginger resembles ginger in growth and habit but is actually a member of the Commelinaceae family. Blue Gingers are cultivated for their striking blue flowers. This photo was taken in the Kadoorie Farm and Botanical Garden here in Hong Kong.
