Description:
Chattonella (shat-on-ell-a) marina, a stramenopile, with golden plastids (freshwater raphidophytes often have plastids which are bright green). Anterior flagellum beats with undulating motion drawing the cell forward, a second flagellum trails behind the cell. Differential interference microscopy.
