Description: Monkfish from Brazil. This is Lophiodes beroe Caruso,1981. John Caruso has a publication showing some photos he took from the R/V Johnson Sea Link showing the characteristic white humeral spots. The spots were first observed using the Sea Link (Fig. 4, p. 1022) and have never been seen on preserved specimens. J. H. Caruso, S. W. Ross, K. J. Sulak and G. R.
