Athrypsiastis symmetra is a moth in the family Xyloryctidae. It was described by Edward Meyrick in 1915. It is found on New Guinea.[1]
The wingspan is about 21 mm. The forewings are white with the dorsum faintly tinged with pale grey suffusion. The hindwings are white.[2]

Athrypsiastis symmetra is een vlinder uit de familie van de sikkelmotten (Oecophoridae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1915 door Meyrick.
