Heuchera hallii A. Gray, Proc. Acad. Phila. 1863 : 62. 1864
Acaulescent and densely cespitose with a thick caudex ; flowering stems scapiform, naked, glabrous or minutely puberulent, 1-3 dm. high; petioles 2-8 cm. long, minutely puberulent or glabrous ; leaf-blades rounded-reniform, with an open sinus, deeply 5-7lobed and with ovate, bristle-tipped teeth, 1-3.5 cm. ^dde, thick and shining, glabrous or minutely glandular-puberulent; inflorescence narrow, short, 2-6 cm. long; hypanthium yellowish or pinkish, campanulate, together with the rounded-ovate sepals 4-5 mm. long; petals spatulate, clawed, one half longer than the sepals.
Type locality : Rocks on mountains of medium elevation (Colorado). Distribution : Alpine and subalpine regions of Colorado.
