Heuchera minutiflora Hemsl. Diag. PI. Nov. 50. 1880
Acaulescent ; flowering branches 3-5 dm. high, more or less glandular -hairy, more or less leafy ; petioles of basal leaves 4-6 cm. long, hirsute ; blades nearly orbicular with cordate base, 4-6 cm. wide, glabrate or nearly so, indistinctly 9-11-lobed, with broadly ovate mucronate teeth ; inflorescence narrow ; hypanthium with the sepals 2 mm. long, glandular-puberulent ; sepals rounded-oblong ; petals oblanceolate, slightly exceeding the sepals ; filaments very short, not exceeding the ovate anthers.
Type locality : Mexico, on the mountain Popocatepetl. Distribution : Known only from the type locality.

Heuchera orizabensis Hemsl. Diag. PL Nov. 50. i880
Acaulescent; flowering branches 3-4 dm. high, scapiform, usually with a few' red fimbriate scales and bracts, hirsute with long brownish hairs or the inflorescence merely glandular-puberulent ; petioles also densely hirsute, 0.5-1 dm. long; blades orbicular, rounded-cordate or reniform, with deep narrow sinuses at the base, the basal lobes often meeting or nearly so, with shallow round lobes and ovate cuspidate teeth, short-hirsute above, long-hirsute beneath ; hypanthium light-rose, campanulate, white-pilose, together with the oblong obtuse greenish-tipped sepals about 4 mm. long; petals narrowly linearoblanceolate, acute, fully as long as the stamens and over twice as long as the sepals.
Type locality : Mexico, on the peak of Orizaba. Distribution : Cold ledges, central Mexico.
