Heuchera glaberrima Rydb. sp. nov
Stem very short if any ; flowering branches more or less leafy, 4-6 dm. high, glabrous up to the inflorescence, which is minutely puberulent ; petioles of the basal leaves glabrous, 6-12 cm. long, slender; blades cordate, 2-6 cm. long, 1.5^ cm. wide, glabrous, round-lobed and toothed with broadly ovate, bristle-pointed teeth ; blades of the stem-leaves similar, but smaller and comparatively shorter ; inflorescence 3-4 dm. long, narrow but open ; bracts linearsubulate ; hypanthium pubescent, together with the oblong obtuse sepals 2.5 mm. long ; petals white, narrowly spatulate, about twice as long as the sepals.
Type collected in Oregon by Howell, and distributed under the name H. glabra.
