Το Daphnella stiphra είναι ένα είδος θαλάσσιου σαλιγκαριού,[1] ένα θαλάσσιο γαστερόποδο μαλάκιο της οικογένειας των Ραφιτομιδών (Raphitomidae).
Το μήκος του κελύφους φτάνει τα 8,5mm, η διάμετρος του τα 4mm.
(Πρωτότυπη περιγραφή) Το κέλυφος είναι εύθραυστο, κοντό και έχει διπλά κωνικό σχήμα. Το καστανό πρωτόκογχο αποτελείται από 4½ σπείρες, έχει πυκνές γραμμώσεις με στίγματα ανάμεσα, και το υπόλοιπο έχει σχέδιο πλέγματος, σχηματιζόμενο από την διασταύρωση δύο ομάδων πυκνών πλάγιων γραμμώσεων. Οι τέσσερις σπείρες του σπειρώματος είναι κυρτές, κυρτωμένες λίγο πιο κάτω από το κέντρο τους, και οι ραφές (οι ενώσεις μεταξύ τους) είναι βαθειές. Η σπείρα σώματος είναι ογκώδης και μειώνεται σε μέγεθος πλησιάζοντας στη βάση. Το άνοιγμα είναι λοξό, ωοειδούς σχήματος. Το (σπασμένο) εξωτερικό χείλος είναι λεπτό και απλό. Το εσωτερικό χείλος παρουσιάζεται ως υαλώδους μορφής, ομαλή περιοχή. Ο στύλος είναι ευθύς και ελάχιστα κοίλος. Το σιφωνικό κανάλι είναι σύντομο και ανοιχτό. Η στρογγυλή και απλή κοιλότητά του βρίσκεται στο ράμμα.
Γλυπτική: Στο κοίλο διάστημα ακριβώς κάτω από το ράμμα βρίσκονται πολύ λεπτές πυκνές σπειροειδούς σχήματος γραμμές, οκτώ στην προτελευταία σπείρα, κάτω από ένα προεξέχον σπείρωμα, το οποίο οριοθετεί αυτή την περιοχή, υπάρχουν πιο απομακρυσμένες μεταξύ τους και πιο στενές γραμμές, δύο στην πρώτη σπείρα, τρείς στην δεύτερη, τέσσερις στην τρίτη, οκτώ στην τέταρτη, και περίπου σαράντα στην σπείρα σώματος.
Οι σπειροειδείς γραμμές που ακολουθούν την φορά του άξονα του κελύφους κοιλώνονται όσο προωθούνται προς το προεξέχον μέρος της σπείρας και κυρτώνονται από εκεί και προς τη ραφή, διατρέχουν την σπείρα σώματος πάνω από τη βάση ως την κοιλότητα του σιφωνικού καναλιού.[2]
Αυτό το θαλάσσιο είδος ενδημεί στην Αυστραλία και εμφανίζεται έξω από την Νότια Αυστραλία.

Daphnella stiphra is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Raphitomidae.[1]
The length of the shell attains 8.5 mm, its diameter 4 mm.
(Original description) The shell is fragile, short and has a biconic shape. The brown protoconch consists of 4½ whorls, the apical 1½ with close spiral lirae, punctate between, the rest latticed by the crossing of two sets of crowded oblique lirae. The whorls are convex with deep sutures. The four whorls in the spire are convex, roundly angled just below the centre; the sutures deep. The body whorl is tumid and contracted at the base. The aperture is obliquely oval. The (broken) outer lip is thin and simple. The inner lip is represented by a smooth, glazed area. The columella is straight and barely concave. The siphonal canal is short and open. The round and simple sinus is situated at the suture.
Sculpture. In the concave space just below the suture are crowded very fine spirals, eight in the penultimate. Below a prominent thread which bounds this space are more distant and stouter lirae, two in the first whorl, three in the second, four in the third, eight in the fourth, and about forty in the body whorl. Axial threadlets concave forwards to the prominent spiral thread, and convex forwards thence to the suture, run in the body whorl over the base to the siphonal anal. [2]
This marine species is endemic to Australia and occurs off South Australia.
