Groove-billed Anis (Crotophaga sulcirostris) (which are Cuckoo relatives) are common residents of fields and clearings -they like to hang out around marshes, too, which is where I recorded these. Cattle are their best friends, as they like to eat the insects the cattle stir up. They always want to announce their arrival by calling their "Tijo, Tijo" call. (Costa Rica)
