A time-lapse sequence with intervals of about 4 seconds shows the process of defecation. In the image on the top right you can see the opening cytoproct with the membrane of the defecation vacuole still intact. In the first image in the bottom row the defecation vacuole membrane has opened, the second image shows the release of the digestive waste.
