Gemeine Becherjungfer (
Enallagma cyathigerum), nähe Schleswig, nördliches Schleswig-Holstein. Dieses Exemplar zeigt eine deutlich ausgeprägte Kältefärbung, zu der Enallagma cyathigerum durch einen physiologischen Farbwechsel befähigt ist, bei dem durch Pigmentwanderung in den Epidermiszellen die Körperfarbe bräunlich verdunkelt wird. Da dieser Effekt nur bei tiefen Außentemperaturen auftritt, dient er wahrscheinlich dem schnelleren Aufwärmen durch die höhere Absorption der Sonnenstrahlung in der dunklen Farbphase. Das Foto entstand am 20. Mai 2011 um 6.44 Uhr morgens, nach Auskunft eines Online-Wetterdienstes betrug die Nachttemperatur in der nahegelegenen Stadt Schleswig an diesem Tage 4,5 °C, die genaue Temperatur des Mikroklimas am Fotostandort kann etwas abweichen. Dass es sich nicht etwa um eine Jugendfärbung handelt, zeigen die vollständig ausgefärbten blauen Augen und die verbleibenden Farbreste in den Einschnürungen von Thorax und Abdomen. English: A male

This specimen shows a very pronounced cold color, since this effect occurs only at low temperatures, it is likely to warm up faster by the higher absorption of solar radiation in the dark color phase. The photo was taken on 20 May 2011 at 6.44 clock in the morning, according to information from an online weather service, the night temperature in the nearby town of Schleswig was 4,5 °C, the exact temperature of the microclimate at the photo location could vary slightly.
