Rose Myrtle is a beautiful wild flower, it blooms heavily this time (April - May) of the year. This lovely plant has large and numerous flowers which are set under the axils. They are in opposite pairs, each with 5 purple-red petals and bright yellow stamens. the flowers have a refreshing fragrance. Their striking colour added vibrancy to the countryside here in Hong Kong. Roots, Leaves and fruits are used as an anti-diarrea and tranquilizing herb.
