Comment: Determination of taxa of genus Euphrasia to species level is often a hard task even for a professional. The extremely variable plants somehow do not want to fit to men's idea to put all living creatures into a fixed system. Here, as everywhere, the spirit of abstraction of real life inevitably incorporates and results in some kind of violence. Several, much different, approaches to the taxonomy of this genus exist without a general consent. Which is 'the true one' or at least 'the best' will probably remain unresolved forever. Consequently, to untangle the mess of different names and descriptions of tens of taxa is close to a 'mission impossible' for an amateur in most cases. There are at least three species, which can be found growing at such high elevations in subalpine and alpine belt in Slovenia. However, only Euphrasia picta has such low growth (it is only a few cm tall) and has at the same time quite large, colorful flowers (relatively, of cause). Therefore, I believe the pictures show it (following Ref.1 with respect to naming). The species is a Central European floral element, excluding England, Spain, Portugal, most of Balkan peninsula and north of Europe, including Scandinavian countries (Ref.1).Ref.:(1) The Euro+Med PlantBase - the information resource for Euro-Mediterranean plant diversity; ww2.bgbm.org/EuroPlusMed/query.asp (accessed August 29. 2020)(2) M.A. Fischer, W.
