Agrilus planipennis - Emerald Ash Borer (14413937741)
Descrição:
Description: This species will only develop in Ash (Fraxinus) trees. They generally reach a length of 13mm (.5 inch) and are metallic green. Their underside frequently is lighter in color and may have a gold or coppery tone. It can be easily distinguished from native Agrilus sp. by its size. Most natives are much smaller. In flight, the Emerald Ash Borer's abdomen stands out in a red to purplish hue. I spread the elytra on this specimen to show the colorful abdomen. They emerged June 9th this year in northern VA. Date: 14 June 2014, 21:28. Source: Agrilus planipennis - Emerald Ash Borer. Author: Benjamin Smith from United States.
