Nraud (1794-1855), French lawyer and amateur botanist of Madagascar with whom Charles Gaudichaud-Beaupr (1789-1854), a French botanist, became aquainted while in Madagascar.The Latin specific and varietal names angulata, somewhat angled, refers to the fruits of this species.
